Pastor/People Conflict Research

Thesis:
Most severe Pastor/People conflict finds its genesis with clergy, not conscious of the congregation’s personality or that it has its own spiritual posture and language, leading with his or her spiritual language and gifts and focusing on corresponding spiritual preferences.

This research seeks to assess the pastor/people relationship in 200 - 500 congregations, inter-denominational and inter-faith, who have experienced conflict. The congregations would be asked to have a statistically significant number of members complete the Profiler of Congregational Personality Preferences (PCPP). The participating clergy would provided their personality type based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, as well as complete an assessment indicating the style and focus of their leadership.
